Derived from the limestone deposits of the Vallée Heureuse in the Bassin de Marquise, our fillers are 100% natural and produced in an environmentally-friendly fashion. Carbocia supplies value-added products made from materials sourced from sustainable quarrying.

Striking a balance between quarries and the environment

Carbocia and les Carrières de la Vallée Heureuse are fully committed to sustainable development and protecting the environment. To keep the negative impacts of our activities on local habitats and wildlife down to a minimum, we have implemented a raft of measures: land rehabilitation once extraction operations are finished, integration of the quarry into the Bassin de Marquise area’s landscape, compliance with UNICEM’s environmental charter of 80 good practices, studies of the local fauna and flora carried out by naturalists etc.

Multimodal transport and new-generation vehicles : a more sustainable alternative for the transportation of your micronized limestone products

As part of our drive to lessen the negative impact of our activities upon the environment, we are moving towards more environmentally-friendly methods of transportation. Road-rail transport directly from the extraction site and ocean and river-borne transport are cost-effective and green alternatives which are well suited to our field of activity. When transporting micronized fillers, we are careful to use motor vehicles that meet EURO 5 and EURO 6 emissions standards. Some of these vehicles are powered by LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas, mostly composed of propane and butane). This alternative helps reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.

In terms of particle size, uniformity and consistency, colour, flowability and chemical composition our micronized limestone fillers (ranging in size from a few microns to 4 mm) are perfectly suited to agricultural and industrial uses, meeting the specific standards and requirements of these sectors. We are able to operate on a continuous production basis and boast an integrated logistics infrastructure.

We sell top-quality limestone fillers extracted from the Carrières de la Vallée Heureuse quarry in France’s Pas-de-Calais area. The intrinsic physical and chemical propertiesof our limestone and our micronization techniques are of major benefit to many industries. We shift our focus and adapt our products to keep pace with ongoing technological progress thanks to our partner CVH’s laboratory.

Our products

Our limestone has a content of over 96% CaCO3. This extremely high level allows us to meet the specifications of the industrial and agricultural sectors. The particle size of our fillers meets all relevant product requirements and complies with all standards and regulations currently in force.
